Author From Findlay Returns Home For Children’s Book Tour
A Findlay native is returning home from across the globe to share his children’s book with the community that helped shape him.
Author Michael Kujawa will host a weeklong series of family-friendly events in Findlay this May, featuring readings, book signings and interactive experiences centered around his debut children’s book, The Magic Stick Box.
Now based in Sydney, Australia, Kujawa began writing in 2014, turning everyday inspiration into imaginative storytelling designed to spark creativity in young readers. His return to Findlay marks a full-circle moment, bringing his work back to the place he once called home.
“This tour is really about connecting with families and showing kids how powerful their imagination can be,” Kujawa said. “There’s something special about doing that in your hometown.”
The tour will feature multiple stops throughout the community:
- Saturday, May 9, 11 a.m.: Coffee Amici, 328 S. Main St. (No registration required)
- Sunday, May 10, 3 to 5 p.m.: Reading Grounds, 1041 N. Main St. (Registration required) The Reading Grounds event offers a unique Mother’s Day experience, with registered attendees receiving a complimentary cake pop.
- Wednesday, May 13, 9:30 a.m.: Findlay-Hancock County Public Library, 206 Broadway St. (No registration required)
- Wednesday, May 13, 6 to 7:30 p.m.: Cops & Kids Family Night Pizza Party at Fort Findlay FOP Lodge No. 20, 1769 S. Romick Parkway (Registration required) Cops & Kids Family Night will include free pizza for families.
- Saturday, May 16, 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m.: Findlay Family YMCA Child Development Center, 231 E. Lincoln St. (Registration encouraged) YMCA event will also feature activities from the Children’s Museum.
In addition to public events, Kujawa will visit local classrooms throughout the week, bringing his story directly to students across Findlay.
Events are designed to engage children and families through live readings, opportunities to meet the author and interactive elements that bring the story to life.
Kujawa’s book, The Magic Stick Box, reflects his passion for storytelling that encourages imagination, curiosity and creativity. His live readings are known for their energy and connection with young audiences, creating memorable experiences that go beyond the page.
