Black Bear Sightings In Ohio Reach All-Time High

(ONN) – Amid several bear sightings in the state, officials are attempting to learn more about them.

State wildlife officials have put a tracking collar on a massive 576-pound black bear.

The bear’s movements and behavior will be tracked for research.

The Ohio Division of Wildlife says black bear sightings across the state have reached an all-time high.

There were 537 sightings in 69 Ohio counties last year.

That number is more than double the number in 2023.
