Carey School Board Discusses Reopening Road Near School

1/15/19 – 5:26 A.M.

The reopening of a road in a park next to the Carey school isn’t up to the school district. That was the word from Carey Superintendent Mike Wank during a Monday school board meeting. Wank says the village council will have to decide if they’ll reopen Memorial Park Boulevard.

The village blocked the road near the school to reduce traffic there. Some students used the road to get to school.

In December, Stan Stombaugh submitted a petition to council with 250 signatures to reopen the road. The petition also calls for adding sidewalks in the area.
