Councilwoman Holly Frische Discusses Estimated Income Tax Payments

Findlay Councilwoman Holly Frische joined WFIN’s Chris Oaks to discuss estimated tax payments and why she opposes it. She said that companies allowed to skip paying their taxes on a quarterly basis out of fear.
She added that it was put in place in 2009 as a knee-jerk reaction to an incident in 2007 where the city almost couldn’t repay a company that overpaid their taxes.
Frische explained that the city has money to put into the appropriate income tax refund accounts to eliminate this practice.
Frische said that if the policy remains in place there needs to be an official policy and procedure laid out for everyone to understand.
