Driver Arrested After High-Speed Pursuit In Hancock County

On 3/19/2026 at approximately 0337 hours deputies observed a 2016 Honda Accord traveling at a high rate of speed on SR 15 near CR 193. The vehicle approached the marked unit, nearly striking it from behind as it changed lanes. Deputies were able to check the vehicle’s speed at 90 MPH. A traffic stop was attempted near SR 15 and CR 180. The driver failed to stop and a 12.6-mile, 10 min pursuit ensued with speeds reaching 96 MPH.
The vehicle continued westbound on SR 15 until it merged onto I-75 northbound. The pursuit continued northbound on I-75 until a commercial tractor trailer boxed the vehicle in as it attempted to exit onto the SR 613 exit ramp. The driver was able to be arrested without further incident. No injuries or damage occurred during the pursuit. The driver was later identified as Michael S. Dessin (51yo) of Westerville, OH. Michael was arrested for the following charges and incarcerated at the Hancock County Justice Center:
. Failure to Comply with Order or Signal of Police Officer – Felony of the fourth degree
. Obstructing Official Business – Misdemeanor of the second degree
. Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drug – Misdemeanor of the first degree
. Speed Violation – Minor Misdemeanor
. Marked Lanes – Minor Misdemeanor
Assisting at the scene was the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Findlay Police Department, and Dick’s Towing.
