The Findlay City School board approved the second of two resolutions to put a safety and security levy in front of voters this November. Treasurer Mike Barnhart explained that this levy will help provide updates for the school.
Barnhart explained that they are trying to keep the costs low and are even getting funding from elsewhere.
The levy put before voters will be 1.5 mills. Barnhart said that this will generate $1.2 million a year. All of the money raised will go towards security and preventative measures including mental health services for students.
Barnhart explained that the school district held a safety forum earlier in the year. He added that the plans for this levy came from that meeting
