Findlay Infant Killed In Wyandot County Crash

A 20-month-old Findlay infant was killed in a crash south of Carey Tuesday morning. The Courier reports that a sheriff’s deputy found the crash around 5:45 a.m. on U.S. 23 at County Highway 97. 21-year-old Michelle Weatherholtz of Findlay was driving south on 23 when she slowed down to make a right turn. 43-year-old Frank Bauer of Hamilton rear-ended Weatherholtz’s car with his semitrailer.
The vehicle was pushed off the road by the impact. Wyandot County EMS took Michelle and two passengers, 21-year-old Cody Weatherholtz and her daughter Candase to Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Candase was pronounced dead at the hospital. Michelle was taken to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for her injuries.
Bauer was not hurt in the accident. The Upper Sandusky Municipal Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing possible criminal charges. The crash remains under investigation.
