FPD Awarded Grant Funding For Summer Traffic Safety Campaigns
(From The Findlay Police Department)
The Findlay Police Department has been awarded funding for the 2026 Summer Holiday Enforcement Program (SHEP) Grant through the Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO).
The SHEP grant provides federal traffic safety funding to support high-visibility enforcement efforts during the summer months, including national enforcement campaigns such as “Click It or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.”
These enforcement efforts focus on reducing crashes caused by impaired driving, speeding, and seat belt violations.
Through this grant, officers will conduct targeted traffic enforcement initiatives designed to increase voluntary compliance with Ohio’s traffic laws and enhance roadway safety throughout the Findlay community. Funding supports overtime enforcement efforts during designated campaign periods.
Traffic crashes remain a leading cause of preventable injury and death. The Findlay Police Department remains committed to proactive enforcement and public education to reduce serious injury and fatal crashes.
Motorists are reminded to:
-Always wear a seat belt -Never drive impaired -Obey posted speed limits -Eliminate distractions while driving
The Findlay Police Department appreciates the continued partnership with OTSO in working to keep Ohio’s roadways safe for everyone.
