Funeral Procession For Police Officer Set For Today

The Findlay Police Department says the funeral procession for officer Douglas Akers could result in some traffic delays later today.

The procession will start around 4 p.m. on State Route 12 west of Findlay. It will travel east to Western Avenue and then north to Trenton Avenue. From there the procession will go east to North Main Street and south through downtown to Lima Avenue. After that, it will go west to Cory Street, north to West Main Cross, and then west to the city limits.

The procession will last around 25 minutes. The funeral and burial services for Akers are private.

Akers died in his home on December 31.
