Gas Tax Increase Set To Boost Fostoria Road Repair Budget

Fostoria is anticipating a boost to its road repair budget thanks to the increase in Ohio’s gas tax. Mayor Eric Keckler told Fostoria City Council the city will likely see around $281,000 in extra road funds next year. That number climbs to $284,000 in 2021.

Keckler says Fostoria could put the money toward a joint project with ODOT or do paving projects on their own. He adds that the city will work with auditor’s office to get more concrete numbers and then develop a maintenance plan with city council.
