Harshfield Decides To Stay In House District Race
7/18/18 – 5:23 A.M.
A week after the Hancock County Democratic Party said their candidate for the 83rd Ohio House District had dropped out of the race, Mary Harshfield now says she’s staying in. Harshfield said she wanted to get out of the race, but her party was having trouble finding a replacement to run against Republican Jon Cross in the November general election.
Harshfield says she’ll run a “cost-free” campaign. She’ll appear at the Hancock County Fair and possibly other community events.
Harshfield ran for the 83rd House District seat in 2016, losing to Robert Sprague. She also unsuccessfully ran for Findlay City Council seats in 2015 and 2017.
