Man Arrested Following Chase In Putnam County

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man following a chase through a cornfield Monday afternoon. WLIO-TV reports the incident started around 1:15 p.m. when a car hit a utility pole just outside Ottawa on Road I-9. The driver pulled off the road in front of a home and then left the scene of the crash.

Witnesses saw the man run into a cornfield, and deputies gave chase. They later found him in an apartment at the corner of State Route 15 and Road I-9.

The sheriff’s office hasn’t publicly identified the suspect.
