Ottawa Man Killed In Monday Crash

7/24/18 – 4:56 A.M.

A Monday morning crash killed a Putnam County man. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reports a pickup truck and a dump truck collided on Hancock County Road 86 near the intersection with County Road 128.

Investigators say 35-year-old Tyler Schroeder of Ottawa was driving his pickup east on Road 86 when he went left of center and hit a westbound dump truck driven by 30-year-old Matthew Lyle of Cridersville. Schroeder wasn’t wearing a seat belt, and the impact of the crash partially ejected him from his truck. Deputies pronounced him dead at the scene of the crash.

Hanco EMS took Lyle to Blanchard Valley Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
