Man Convicted In Child Sex Abuse Case

Re: State of Ohio vs. William R. Stevens, Case #25-CR-0020
On the afternoon of Wednesday March 18, 2026, a Seneca County jury returned guilty verdicts in the case of State vs. William R. Stevens. The Defendant, who also goes by the name Ricky Stevens was convicted of:
-Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor (Third Degree Felony)
-Interference with Custody (Fifth Degree Felony)
-Compelling Prostitution (Third Degree Felony)
-Corrupting Another with Drugs (Second Degree Felony)
-Gross Sexual Imposition (Fourth Degree Felony)
-Rape (First Degree Felony).
The three-day trial started on Monday and was presided over by Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Damon D. Alt. Seneca County Prosecuting Attorney Derek W. DeVine represented the State of Ohio.
The case was investigated by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and was led by Detective Misty Wheeler. DeVine indicated: “Detective Wheeler did a highly professional investigation, and our office greatly appreciates the hard work she put into this matter.”
Sentencing is scheduled for April 10, 2026, in Judge Alt’s courtroom. Stevens was represented by Tiffin Attorney Timothy Hoover.
