Monroeville Man Pleads Guilty To Stealing Over 3 Million Dollars From Farmers

A Monroeville businessman admitted to stealing over $3 million from farmers in Seneca, Erie, Huron, Lorain, and Richland Counties. The Advertiser-Tribune reports that 79-year-old Richard Schwan pleaded guilty to several charges. Schwan must pay restitution of $3.2 million before his sentencing hearing next month. The money will reimburse the farmers, the Ohio Department of Agriculture, and the Ohio Grain Indemnity Fund.
