There is a new scam causing issues in Hardin County. WKTN radio reports that an imposter of the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is calling people trying to collect money. Sheriff Keith Everhart said that the man is identifying himself as Kenneth Cook. He is calling businesses saying that individuals there have missed jury duty. The man then tells the victim that if they don’t pay they are going to jail.

Everhart said that this isn’t how these situations are handled. He added that there isn’t even a Kenneth Cook at the Sheriff’s Office.

He said that if you get a phone call like this, you should call the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office at 419-673-1286.
