Next Classic Movie Night Part Of ‘Ohio Goes To The Movies’ Initiative

(From the Hancock Historical Museum)

The Hancock Historical Museum invites the community to its next Classic Movie Night screening on Friday, May 15, 2026, featuring the star-studded 1964 screwball comedy What a Way to Go!. The screening is part of the statewide Ohio Goes to the Movies initiative, celebrating Ohio’s rich cinematic heritage.

Ohio Goes to the Movies is a 2026 statewide celebration and film series for America’s 250th anniversary, featuring over 250 free, Ohio-centric movie screenings across all 88 counties. Running from February to October 2026, it highlights Ohio’s role in cinema, featuring films shot in the state, produced by Ohioans, or featuring local themes.

This Hollywood comedy stars Shirley MacLaine, Paul Newman, Robert Mitchum, Dean Martin, Gene Kelly, and Dick Van Dyke. Both Paul Newman, a native of Shaker Heights, and Dean Martin, born in Steubenville, called the Buckeye State home.

Classic Movie Night is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and seating is limited, so early arrival is encouraged. Historical information begins promptly at 7:00 p.m., and the film begins after. Complimentary popcorn and refreshments will be provided. BYOB is welcome.

Don’t miss this chance to enjoy a classic comedy with fellow film fans in an authentic, big-screen setting at the Hancock Historical Museum, located at 422 West Sandusky Street in Findlay.
