Sprague To Take On Crowded Field In State Treasurer Race

State Representative Robert Sprague of Findlay will have competition in his bid to become state treasurer. Sandra O’Brien is also running as a Republican for the position, meaning they will face off in the May primary election. O’Brien is a former teacher and auditor in Ashtabula County. She won the Republican primary for state treasurer in 2006 but lost in the general election to Democrat Robert Cordray.

O’Brien also ran for secretary of state in 2010 but lost to Jon Husted.

Two Democrats are also running for state treasurer. Neil Patel of Westerville is running against Rob Richardson of Cincinnati.
