Stantec Explains Future Of Blanchard River Benching Project

Stantec Engineering held a meeting to talk about the future of the benching project for the Blanchard River. Stantecs Adam Hoff said they hope to start clearing trees for the first phase soon.
Hoff explained that they need to clear the trees soon to protect endangered bat species. Afterward Stantec will be able to apply for the proper permits to start construction later this year.
Hoff said that if all goes according to plan the project could be finished by the fall of 2019. The project is supposed to drop the 100 year flood by almost a foot.
