Sunny Farms Landfill Completes Work On Gas Collection System

Sunny Farms Landfill says they have finished work on a gas collection system. The upgrades are in an effort to control bad odors coming from the landfill. A weekly update from the company says 18 new landfill gas extraction wells and 11 perimeter collection pipes are now connected to the landfill gas vacuum system. They finished the work on March 30.
A release from Sunny Farms says construction on more gas collection pipes will continue over the next week. They also plan to install a new extraction well the week of April 15th. That project could allow for the temporary release of some odors according to the company.
