Melissa N. Nitz

U.S. Air Force Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Melissa N. Nitz graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Nitz is the daughter of Lisa and Charles Nitz of Macomb, Mich., granddaughter of Howard Bastuba of Clinton Township, Mich., and niece of Karen Hutchcraft of St. Clair Shores, Mich., Janice Prager and Brenda Hunt of Warren, Mich., Skip Nitz of Findlay, Ohio, and Rick Bastuba of Shelby, Mich.

She is a 2003 graduate of Lakenheath High School, Macomb, Mich.
