Charges Upgraded Against Teens In Connection To Woman’s Death At Park

(ONN) – Two teenagers accused of causing the death of a photographer in Hocking Hills are facing new and very serious charges.

The Hocking County prosecutor says after careful consideration they have now filed charges of murder, felonious assault and involuntary manslaughter against the two teens.

16-year-olds Jaden Churchheus and Jordan Buckley originally faced reckless homicide charges.

Police say the teens pushed a six-foot log off of a cliff at Hocking Hills State Park in September.

When it fell, it hit 44-year-old photographer and Chillicothe mom, Victoria Schafer. She died at the scene.

Prosecutors intend to try both teens as adults.
