Findlay City Council Drops Potential Sale Of City-Owned Parking Lot
07/03/19 – 5:22 A.M.
The developer looking at the former site of the Argyle building is no longer interested in buying a city-owned parking lot. Findlay City Council removed the legislation to sell the parking lot from their agenda last night. Developer Tim Youngpeter had told city officials, but not to council directly, that the plan for his $31 million project has been reimagined and that he won’t need the property. Despite the move, council remains in favor of the redevelopment of the former Argyle site.
The parking lot in question was the city’s West Hardin Street parking by The Wine Merchant. Council had estimated the lot to be around $180,000. They made an offer to Youngpeter but the asking amount has not been made public.
