Findlay Man Arrested After Police Standoff Spanning Over 5 Hours

07/03/19 – 5:19 A.M.

Police arrested a Findlay man after a more than five-hour standoff in a Morse Street home yesterday. The Findlay Police reports that officers were called to 619 Morse street around 2:40 p.m. on a report of a gunshot during a domestic incident. A woman told police that 27-year-old Justin Stover was in the house and would not come out.

Police tried to reach Stover but failed and the Findlay Police Crisis Management Team was called in. Stover still refused to talk to officers on multiple occasions. A chemical irritant was deployed into the house around 8 p.m. and Stover came out from the basement of the home. He was taken into custody without incident. He was being held on a felony warrant and a weapons violation.

The incident remains under investigation and charges could be forthcoming, according to police.
