Findlay Man Pleads No Contest In Child Porn Case

8/3/18 – 5:06 A.M.

A 33-year-old Findlay man pleaded no contest to seven child pornography charges Thursday. Authorities originally charged Ronald Hoke with 13 counts of child pornography in March of 2017. The no contest plea means Hoke didn’t dispute the facts of the case but also did not admit guilt.

Hancock County Common Pleas Court Judge Jonathan Starn noted Hoke is legally blind during the Thursday hearing. He also said Hoke has Asperger’s syndrome. People with Asperger’s can have high intelligence and narrow, obsessive interests.

Hoke’s sentencing hearing is September 17. A plea deal recommends 180 days in jail followed by five years of community control sanctions. Hoke will also have to register as a Tier II sex offender.
