Findlay Man Rejects Plea Deal In Drug Overdose Case

8/3/18 – 5:15 A.M.

A Findlay man decided not to take a plea deal in a fatal overdose case. Prosecutors offered 37-year-old Maynard Norton a deal that included a five-year prison sentence in exchange for a guilty plea in an involuntary manslaughter case. Investigators say Maynard provided the drugs that led to the death of 25-year-old Jaerrod McDaniel of Findlay in December of 2016.

A trial for Norton is set for January. He faces up to 11 years in prison if convicted on the involuntary manslaughter charge. He also faces a count of corrupting another with drugs, which carries an eight-year maximum sentence.
