Fostoria Man Killed Trying To Break Up Fight Between Dogs

7/24/17 – 7:17 A.M.

A Fostoria man lost his life last week when he tried to break up a fight between two pit bulls. Media partner WTOL-11 reports the incident happened just after 11 p.m. Thursday on Davoli Street. 60-year-old Michael Parks let his dog out, when she suddenly ran across the street and began attacking another dog, who was walking on a leash with its owner.

One of the dogs bit Parks’ dialysis shunt, causing him to bleed out. Doctors pronounced him dead at the hospital later that night.

Fostoria Police Chief Keith Loreno told the TV station you should never try and break up a fight between dogs.
