Fostoria Native Writing Book About FBI Influences On Religion

A Fostoria native is writing a book about the relationship between religion, the FBI, and national security. Lerone Martin’s book, “J. Edgar Hoovers Stained Glass Window: The FBI and Christian America” aims to chronicle efforts by the FBI and clergy members to shape a vision of “Christian America.”

Martin is an associate professor in Religion and Politics at the John C. Danforth Center on Religion and Politics. He graduated from Fostoria High School in 1998.

Martin has also written a book about the role of the phonograph in shaping African American Religion.
