Speed Limit Reduction On Hancock County Roads

The Hancock County Engineer’s Office is informing drivers of a speed limit reduction on a couple of county roads.

Hancock County Road 95 (West Bigelow Avenue) from I-75 (Findlay City Limits) to County Road 140 is now 35 miles per hour – down from 45 miles per hour.

County Road 140 from Township Road 94 to County Road 99 is now 45 miles per hour instead of 55.

Hancock County Engineer Doug Cade says a traffic engineering study was conducted and the results sent to the Ohio Department of Transportation which made the call to lower the speed limits.

He said the number of crashes, particularly at County Roads 95 and 140, and complaints about speeders were some of the factors in lowering the speed limits.
